UI Postgraduate Portal: Everything You Need to Know

UI Postgraduate Portal: The University of Ibadan (UI) is the first university in Nigeria and one of the oldest in the country. UI is known for its academic excellence and a lot of students wish to advance their studies there.

For masters, PhD, and other postgraduate programmes at UI, the UI Postgraduate Portal is available for use.

My name is Prudent Joshua and I appreciate how complex the process of applying for admission, accessing your results, or registering online can be.

Due to this specific reason, the information is as simple as it gets, which is why I have taken the time to explain everything in detail.

This article provides a description of the UI Postgraduate Portal’s functionality, as well as guidance for applying, checking admission status, paying fees, and more.

What is the UI Postgraduate Portal?

The UI Postgraduate Portal is a web-based application that enables users to file an application for postgraduate admission, check admission status, register for courses, pay fees, and other related functions. It is administrated by the Postgraduate College of the University of Ibadan.

For those who are new and prospective students, the portal will serve as the means by which an application for admission is filed.

How to Access the UI Postgraduate Portal

To access the portal, follow these simple steps:

1. Open your web browser (Google Chrome is the best for this).

2. Type pgcollege.ui.edu.ng in the search bar and press enter.

3. The homepage of the University of Ibadan Postgraduate College will open.

4. Click on E-Portal to see different options like admission application, student login, and more.

5. Select the option that fits what you want to do.

Now, let me explain how to use the portal for different activities.

UI Postgraduate School Fees

One of the biggest questions applicants ask is about school fees. The University of Ibadan does not have a fixed postgraduate school fee for all students because fees vary based on the programme, faculty, and level of study.

However, here is a general school fees for different categories of students:

Master’s Degree (MSc, MA, MBA, M.Ed, etc.): ₦130,000 – ₦250,000 per session.

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD): ₦100,000 – ₦200,000 per session.

Doctorate (PhD): ₦150,000 – ₦300,000 per session.

Please note that these fees can change depending on the faculty and department.

Common Issues with UI Postgraduate Portal and How to Solve Them

Sometimes, students face problems while using the UI Postgraduate Portal. Here are some common issues and their solutions:

1. Portal Not Opening

   - This usually happens when too many people are trying to access the site at the same time. Try again late at night or early in the morning.

2. Incorrect Login Details

   - Make sure you are entering the correct application number and password. If you forget your password, use the Forgot Password option to reset it.

3. Payment Not Reflecting

If you have paid your school fees but it is not reflecting, wait for 24 hours. If it still does not show, visit the ICT unit of the university with your payment receipt.

4. Difficulty Uploading Documents

Reduce the file size of your documents before uploading. UI has a limit on the size of files you can upload.

Many people search for different things related to the UI Postgraduate Portal.

My Personal Experience with the UI Postgraduate Portal

I, Prudent Joshua, have had my fair share of challenges with school portals, so I understand how frustrating it can be when a site is slow or does not work properly.

A friend of mine once struggled with checking his admission status because the portal was not opening.

He had to go to a cyber café early in the morning when fewer people were online before he could check successfully.

Another friend had issues paying his school fees because his payment was not reflecting. He had to visit UI’s ICT department, where they helped him sort it out.

So if you ever have any issues with the UI Postgraduate Portal, do not panic. Try the solutions I have shared, and if nothing works, visit the school’s ICT unit for help.

 Conclusion

The UI Postgraduate Portal is an important tool for both prospective and current students. Whether you want to apply for admission, check your admission status, pay fees, or register for courses, this portal makes the process easier.

However, it is not perfect, and sometimes you may experience difficulties. When that happens, be patient and follow the solutions I have shared in this article.

I hope this guide has been helpful. If you have any questions, drop them in the comments, and I will do my best to answer them.
