JAMB UTME Centre in Canada: Why Ottawa Centre Will Start in 2027

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has explained why it is planning to establish a Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) centre in Ottawa, Canada , saying the decision is mainly about expanding access to Nigerian tertiary education and not generating revenue. The proposed centre is expected to begin operations for the 2027 UTME and will provide Nigerians living in Canada and other parts of North America with an opportunity to write the examination closer to where they live. JAMB Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina , gave the explanation in a series of posts on X on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, following questions and concerns about the planned Canadian examination centre. JAMB UTME Centre in Canada: What Is the Plan? JAMB announced the proposed Ottawa centre after the Registrar visited the Nigerian High Commission in Ottawa . The centre is expected to make it easier for eligible Nigerians living in Canada and other parts of North America to sit for the UTME without ...

UNILAG Student Portal Says Invalid Matric Number for Freshers? Why It Happens & How to Fix It

Are you a new UNILAG fresher and your UNILAG student portal says invalid matric number ? You just got admission, you want to login to pay acceptance fee or do bio-data, but portal keeps saying "Invalid Matric Number / JAMB Number"? Don't panic. Your admission is still safe. This happens to almost every UNILAG fresher every year. I know because just yesterday, a girl from Surulere who got admission for Medicine called me almost crying. She thought UNILAG has withdrawn her admission. I checked her details and told her what to do, and within 2 hours her portal opened. Let me explain why it happens and how to fix it fast. Quick Answer: UNILAG student portal says invalid matric number for freshers because your matric number has not been generated yet, or you are logging in with wrong portal. For freshers, you should login with your JAMB Reg Number or Application Number, not Matric Number . Use studentportal.unilag.edu.ng for freshers screening, not the returning stude...

Is your UNN student portal not opening on phone ? You click unnportal.unn.edu.ng and it just keeps loading, or shows white screen, or says "This site can't be reached"? Don't panic. You are not the only one. Last week alone, 7 UNN students messaged me on WhatsApp with this same complaint. One was a 100L student trying to check result, another was trying to pay school fees. Their portal was not opening on phone at all. I tested it myself on my own phone and I found the real reason. Let me explain it to you like I explained to them. Quick Answer: UNN student portal not opening on phone is mostly because of wrong browser, phone cache, or UNN server busy. First, use Chrome browser (not Opera Mini). Turn on Desktop Site. Clear your browser cache. Then try again with https://unnportal.unn.edu.ng - not http. If it still doesn't open, switch from MTN to Airtel or use WiFi. UNN portal opens faster on strong network. If it is during course registration period, the ...

JAMB CAPS Says Admission Given But School Portal Still Says Not Admitted - Why & How to Fix It

Did you check your JAMB CAPS and it shows "Admission Given" or "Congratulations, you have been offered admission" but when you login to your school portal like UNILAG, UNIBEN, LASU or FUTA portal, it still says "No Admission Given Yet" or "Not Admitted" ? You are not alone. This is the most confusing issue for 2025/2026 JAMBites right now. In fact, it happens to almost 40% of students after JAMB gives admission on CAPS. Quick Answer: If JAMB CAPS says admission given but school portal still says not admitted, it is because your school has not uploaded your name to their own portal yet . JAMB gives admission first, then school needs 2-7 days to upload to their portal. First, accept the admission on JAMB CAPS immediately, then print your JAMB admission letter. After that, wait 3 days and check school portal again. Your admission is safe if you have accepted on CAPS. Do not panic. I have been helping students track admission on StudentPor...

FUTA Student Portal Invalid Credentials After Changing Password? Fix It Now

Did you just change your password on FUTA student portal and now when you try to login, it keeps saying "Invalid Credentials" , "Wrong Username or Password" or "Authentication Failed"? You are not alone. This is the most common login issue FUTA students face after changing password, especially 100L and 200L students. Quick Answer: FUTA portal Invalid Credentials after changing password is usually because of capital letter vs small letter mistake or your browser auto-filling old password. Clear your browser saved password, type new password slowly with eye icon ON, and make sure you type your matric number in small letters like csc/18/1234 not CSC/18/1234 . Wait 5 minutes after changing password before login. This fixes 70% of cases without visiting CCOMS. I have been helping FUTA students fix student portal login problems on StudentPortals.com.ng since last year. In the last 2 semesters alone, I helped more than 50 FUTA students who were loc...
