As the countdown to JAMB 2025 begins, many candidates have started reading the novel Lekki The Headmaster.
But instead of saying that it’s easy to read, a lot of them are saying that it’s hard to understand.
On social media, some students said they have to read one page several times before they get it. Others said the book is giving them a headache.
What Students Are Saying
A student posted:
JAMB, have mercy on us. I got this book Lekki Headmaster but I didn’t take it seriously, now that i have started reading it, my head is aching. I am calling it Lekki the Headacher!
Another student shared a funny reaction:
The book starts off with the principal crying. If the principal is crying then what am i going to do? I don't get this book at all!
Some students are even tired of reading:
Please someone help me I've read this page 10 times!
Another frustrated candidate wrote:
How are things going over there? This book wants to kill me!
A different student added:
I want to know all the names of the teachers of chapter one and what they teach. What if JAMB asks for their names?
These comments indicate that most candidates find the book uneasy to read and difficult to understand.
Why Are Students Complaining?
1. Not very clear storyline: Some students say that the story is not very clear and difficult to follow.
2. Difficult Words: The book contains words that many students will not know.
3. Too Many Characters: Some students forget the names of the teachers and what subject they teach.
4. JAMB Pressure: Because this novel will appear in the exam, you’ll be under pressure to understand it well.
What Can You Do?
If you have any problems with the book, here are a few tips:
Read slowly: Take time to understand each chapter before moving on to the next.
Summing Up: After each page, explain what you’ve read in your own words.
Talk to Friends: Sharing what you've read with others will help you understand it better.
Watch Online Summaries Some websites and YouTube channels have videos explaining the book.
Don’t give up! No matter how difficult the book is, you’ll figure it out with time and the right attitude.
