Since I’ve always been curious about how their screening works and knowing that many students might be looking for reliable information, I decided to take a direct approach.
I went to the school to gather all the necessary details firsthand, and I’m happy to share my findings with you.
KSUSTA Admission Screening: What You Need to Know
First of all, it’s important to note that the KSUSTA online screening for Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) admissions officially began on Monday, 30th September 2024 and will run until Monday, 14th October 2024.
If KSUSTA is your first choice in the 2024 UTME or you’re applying through Direct Entry, this is your time to act.
From my visit, I learned that KSUSTA follows a process like many other Nigerian universities.
The institution conducts a post-UTME screening for candidates seeking admission into various undergraduate programs.
This screening is critical because it helps determine if you're eligible for admission based on both your JAMB score and academic performance.

Who Is Eligible for KSUSTA Screening?
The first thing you need to know is that not everyone is automatically eligible for KSUSTA’s admission screening because Candidates who scored at least 140 in the 2024 UTME, or DE candidates with a credit or merit pass in HND, ND, NCE, IJMB, or any equivalent qualification from a recognized institution, are eligible for the screening process.
I found out that you need to meet the following criteria:
1. Scored at least 140 in JAMB:
KSUSTA accepts candidates who scored 140 and above in their UTME. This is the minimum cut-off mark for the school.
2. Choose KSUSTA as a first choice:
If you selected KSUSTA as your first choice in JAMB, you’re good to go. If you didn’t, I recommend you do a change of institution before the screening process begins.
3. Five credits in O’Level:
You must have at least five credits in your O'Level exams, including Mathematics, English, and other relevant subjects depending on the course you are applying for.
I got this confirmed by chatting with one of the administrative officers who said that these are non-negotiable.
How to Register for the Screening.
When I went to KSUSTA, one of things I noticed is that there is no hassle during the registration. For interested applicants who qualify for the eligibility criteria, see how to register for the screening:
- 1. Visit the school portal: The first step is to go to KSUSTA’s official admission portal. You can do this from anywhere with an internet connection, so no need to rush to the school for this step. Searching the Internet for KSUSTA official admission portal will yield some results.
- 2. Generate an invoice: You’ll need to generate an invoice on the portal, which you will use to pay for the screening. The current fee for the screening is N2,000. I spoke to a student who had gone through the process, and he mentioned the importance of visiting official portals to avoid problems during payment.
- 3. Payment: After you receive your invoice, there is a need for you to attend any of the local commercial banks or consider doing online banking for your certification payment. After making the payment, you will be issued with a payment receipt to be presented during your screening registration.
- 4. Complete the online form: After payment, pursue back to the portal again, log on and locate the screening form to fill in your details provided there such as JAMB number, O’ Level results, and other relevant information.
- 5. Be sure to print the acknowledgment slip: It’s quite essential since it will act as a confirmation of your successful completion of the screening registration. While still at the school, I noticed some students with these.
Registration Procedure (How to Apply)
In this section, we will discuss how to apply and the registration process in details.
Visit the KSUSTA website: Go to www.ksusta.edu.ng and click on APPLY HERE
Select your course: Click on More Information next to your course of choice. After that, you will be able to see the basic admission requirements for the course you would like to apply for, the application fee, duration and date of closure.
Apply Now: When you are done checking the details about the course, you can click on Apply Now. In case you have an account, please log in using your Google account otherwise you can create a new account if you do not have an existing profile.
Payment of Fees: After completing the registration, you will be required to make a payment of a sum of Two Thousand Naira (₦2000) which is nonrefundable. After making the payment, a confirmation will appear on your screen that your application has been lodged successfully.
Fill in the application form: Ensure that all sections are properly filled, in particular, academic information.
Preview and submit: After filling up the form, click on Preview and Submit to proceed. Always take care to print the completed online screening form for use at a later date in case it is needed.
I found everything problem-free, although if you encounter any problems, KSUSTA has one or more helplines set up for help. The numbers are: 08061299137, 08035894585, and 07051734944.
What to Expect on Screening Day
While interacting with some of the students, I gathered a lot of useful information on what happens on the actual screening day. First off, it’s essential to arrive early.
Be punctual: The screening is usually organized in batches, so be sure to check the time assigned to you on the portal. Being late can lead to unnecessary delays, and from my observation, the school is pretty strict about timing.
What to bring along: You must come with all the required documents. These include your JAMB result slip, O’Level result, birth certificate, and of course, the acknowledgment slip you printed during registration. I also saw some students with passport photographs, so it’s always good to have a few on hand.
KSUSTA’s Screening Format
From my inquiries, I discovered that the screening process at KSUSTA is majorly based on your documents and not a written test.
They take a close look at your academic records, especially your JAMB and O’Level results.
This was confirmed by one of the staff members who told me that the school uses a point-based system to evaluate students.
The higher your JAMB score and O’Level grades, the better your chances.
Important Note
Upload of O'Level Results: It is mandatory for you to upload any of your results eg WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or NBAIS to your JAMB CAPS e-facility either at a JAMB office or an accredited CBT centre.
No Physical Screening: Yes, you do not have to worry about physical appearance as KSUSTA is 100% online in screening, which is not the case with other universities. Hence, there is no physically coming to the university for this reason.
Check JAMB Profile Log-In Daily after Screening: After the screening exercise, the selected candidates are advised insertion of their JAMB profile for further notifications. You should be inserting your profile consistently and reading notifications regarding admission.
My Observations During the Process
One of the things that struck me in the course of my tour of KSUSTA is the orderliness of the institution.
I commended the school for ensuring that the procedure is simplified by placing it on the internet hence saving students the burden of going to the school merely for a screening exercise.
The supportive staff that I met was a pleasant surprise as they acted in all capacity to assist me in case of any ambiguity related to registration.
I would like to add a quick note from my experience, in regard to the completion of the form: do not submit any information unless it has been verified twice.
Minor slip ups can cause some delay or could even lead to disqualification of your application. Also make sure that your O’Level results have been uploaded correctly onto JAMB’s CAPS
Tips for a Successful KSUSTA Screening
From my conversations and observations, I gathered a few tips to help you succeed during the screening process:
1. Ensure your documents are complete: Missing a single document could mean the difference between getting screened and being sent back home. Double-check everything.
2. Dress appropriately: While there’s no official dress code, dressing decently gives a good impression. It’s always better to look organized when you’re dealing with school officials.
3. Be polite and patient: The screening process can sometimes take longer than expected, especially if there are many candidates. Be patient, follow instructions, and stay calm.
4. Check your portal frequently: Sometimes, changes can be made regarding the screening date or other important announcements. Make it a habit to check your portal and email regularly so that you don’t miss any updates.
After the Screening: What Next?
After the screening, what happens next? Based on what I gathered, the school will release a list of successful candidates on the school portal.
You’ll need to keep checking the portal to see if your name appears on the admission list. If you’ve been successful, congratulations!
You’ll then proceed with the admission process, which includes paying your acceptance fee and registering for your courses.
Conclusion
In conclusion, KSUSTA’s admission screening process is not as complicated as it might seem. As long as you follow the steps I outlined, you should have no problem getting through it. Remember to register on time, prepare your documents, and show up early for your screening.
